Our Community“Giving” is the G in our company’s DELIGHT values and the company has over 20 years history of giving - both to its employees and through involvement with the local community and charities further afield.
We believe that we have a responsibility to support people in finding jobs and select temporary staff where we think we can assist with their future career progression. |
hotelshopuk also work closely with The Princes Trust and have in previous years had various Princes’ Trust apprentices complete a work experience module within the different departments. We also regularly have youngsters in for taster weeks and get involved with “Spread the word” sessions in local schools.
On the charity side for ten years hotelshopuk owner Viv Hudson-Findlay worked with The Prince's Trust in Herefordshire where she also headed up the regional fundraising team for The Prince’s Trust which, under her leadership, raised in excess of £60k per annum.
The Staff have been involved in various fundraising initiatives over the years from scaling Kilimanjaro to walking the Malvern Hills, from charity film premiers to “Haunted” theme nights.
Viv believes in setting the staff a challenge and in 2016 whilst still MD she pledged that the company would raise £20k for charity in the company’s 20th Anniversary year. The staff nominated two charities – Little Princess – who make wigs for children out of real hair, and the Ruimveldt Trust – a children’s charity based in Guyana. The challenge culminated in a trip to Guyana by several of the staff to spend a week working with the Guyanese children.
Many of the staff are involved in other local initiatives from Rotary to Round Table, from Breakfast Clubs to local business meetings with MD Diana Evans leading the way! She is an active Worcestershire Ambassador, promoting the county to both national and international audiences.
We also regularly support local charity and customer fundraising initiatives through the donation of vouchers for our Great Little Breaks.

Apprenticeship Creation
Hotelshopuk is committed to encouraging and developing young people in the local Wychavon area.
We have a long history of employing local people and over the years have had on average two apprentices a year working across all areas of the business. The company’s ethos is to invest in an individual’s long-term future thus giving them the chance to complete their qualification whilst gaining valuable first-hand experience of a particular sector. We recognise their effectiveness at increasing productivity and improving business performance as well as helping us fill the skills gaps that exist within our current workforce. It also enables us to train them with the specific skills we need with a view to full time employment and a longer-term contribution to our bottom line.
Generally, apprentices are offered a full time role within the company on completion of their apprenticeship course and subsequent agreement from hotelshopuk that their standard of performance aligns and exceeds the company’s values.
hotelshopuk are committed to offering at least 2 new apprenticeships on a bi-annual basis
