Sutton Coldfield - Ramada Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield

This hotel is quite simply TIRED and very much needs an overall. The ground floor is an improvement on the upper floors but the bedrooms, corridors leading to them, even the health club most definately requires at least a lick of paint if not a lot more. The beds and furniture in the rooms that I saw were old and the mattresses simply awful!! I haven't stayed at a hotel recently that was as dissapointing as this.

We though the staff were excellent really friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

Great hotel, great service, and even got an extra upgrade! Would definately stay here again. Very clean, very friendly 10/10.

Gave only good for the Hotel etc because the room had not been hoovered to well, there were plastic shopping tags and also large biscuit crumbs on the floor, also in the bathroom on the floor and in the hand basin there was an odd hair or two plus both nights I had to ring for more towels as only one bath and one hand towel was left for two people and this had to be done on my mobile as the room phone didn't work.

Recomend a strole up to Walwyn village, superb Indian restaurant and good value pub (the Fox) if you want a carvery. Hotel stay was excellent value for money, mind would probably not have eaten in the restaurant had it not been included in the offer, a little pricey but excellent food and service nevertheless.

The room would have been excellent if it had not been so hot (the hotel got a fan to us very quickly)

Rooms very comfortable, staff very very helpful and friendly,nothing too much trouble. food was lovely and breakfast superb. beautiful grounds with a lovely relaxed feel. There was a wedding there on our second night and we didn't hear a thing. real relaxing weekend break. We will definately be returning soon.

We only used the restaurant for breakfast and with us having young children we didn't use the bar facilities. However, we did use the swimming pool facilities - we did feel a little less welcomed by the younger staff here (we felt unimportant as we weren't the regulars). The staff at the hotel were fantastic. We have stayed in many hotels in the past both for work and pleasure and never before have we received such fantastic service. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and in most cases (especially the reception staff) we felt the service was above and beyond our expectation. At no point did we feel they were just going through the motions because it was their job. The only difficulty for our particular needs was not being able to secure the outside door to our accommodation. The accommodation we had was 2x rooms with shared porch and shared front entrance - this front entrance could be opened from inside without any effort. Although we understand that 2 separate families could occupy each room and therefore the locking of this door would cause inconvenience - for us having a 2yr old boy (who likes investigating and always mischievous) it was a nightmare preventing us from relaxing and we had to keep him in our room in the evening so we could use the chain to secure our own door (this caused it's own problems because our 9yr old daughter couldn't come into our room freely). Other than this minor inconvenience we had a perfectly fabulous time and we are looking at booking with you again very soon. Thank you. Sharon & Simon Steed

The deal was good value for money. The hotel was just a standard hotel not any more than a 3 star hotel. The room was lovely, the food was average but enough of it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The area and grounds where the hotel stands is exceptionally nice and could be made more use of.

A bit quiet in the bar, lacking some atomsphere. However, that is a personal choice. Enjoyed the meal and service in the restaurant.

Restaurant staff were 1st class, very friendly and as it was our anniversary they decorated our table and the food was excellant.

I have stayed in better hotels but this hotel was very good value for 3 Star accomodation. All the staff we had contact with were freindly & helpful, the lake & woodland walkj were refreshing & the swimmingpool, spa & sauna were a bonus. The train station trip into Birmingham was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel, if you prefer the bus then it stops on the main road outside the hotel. We will definitely use again if we are in the area.

Hotel was good and very friendly, however not suitable for anyone with walking differculties, could also have done with better directions around the corridors etc.

Did not use the shopping experience. Very pleasing hotel and location. We used a bus into the city from outside of the hotel. Food very good.
