IP21 4DR Visitors to the Scole Inn will be sharing in the company of both kings and thieves, as this 17th Century former coaching inn has provided lodgings for King Charles II and the highwayman John Belcher. Although there are fantastic fireplaces and a staircase that was hand-carved in the 1600s, the hotel has since modernised and offers guests a choice of 24 well-appointed en-suite bedrooms. Twelve are to be found in the main building, each with its own working fireplace, some of which with four poster beds. The remaining bedrooms are located across the courtyard in the refurbished Georgian stables. Choose to eat in the restaurant or sample a fine ale in the charming bar. The roaring open fireplace will lighten the heaviest of spirits and the welcoming hospitality will delight. The restaurant provides a la carte or table d'hote menus for all guests.
