A truly individual, truly magical, extraordinary romantic & historic hotel.
This stunning castle dating back to 1282 has had many Royals amongst its guests including Prince Charles. The castle sits in its ancient walled dry moat within acres of private landscaped gardens, parkland & woods alongside the River Clwyd.
Most of the 62 bedrooms have recently been refurbished & enjoy views over the 30 acres of gardens, parkland & woods of the estate and towards the surrounding Welsh mountains. All bedrooms feature ensuite bath & shower, TV, direct dial telephone, tea & coffee making facilities and hairdryer. Many rooms have four-poster beds & original fireplaces, and many contain original antique pieces of furniture. A small number of family rooms & suites are available.

The award-winning Bertie's Dining Room serves fresh regional produce creatively used in a modern British style. The dining room features windows overlooking the lawn of the garden terrace. Choose between the Library Bar with its Welsh Oak wood-panelled octagonal walls & heavy leather seating, the Inner Hall with its impressive oil paintings, or the Cornwallis Lounge with its soft sofas & easy chairs for a relaxing drink before and after dining.
It has two magnificent lounges, an oak panelled entrance hall & a bar in the library. The wood panelled entrance hall is warmly lit & several of the inner rooms have the added warmth of beautifully carved stone & wood fireplaces with open fires that make them cosy despite their scale.
